Ranjit Sinha, Director-General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police has been appointed new CBI Director. The order of his appointment were issued early morning.
· Sinha will take over from AP Singh. He has already worked in the CBI. He was on deputation as DIG, CBI, Patna and also served as Joint Director (Anti-corruption), Delhi and Joint Director (Admn) in CBI, HO. In course of his tenure in CBI, he supervised a number of important cases.
· Sinha also headed RPF as DG and made significant contribution in implementing integrated security scheme at various railway stations in the wake of terrorist attack at CST Railway Station, Mumbai in November 2008.
